I joined Deliveroo in August 2019, with the Restaurant team. The Restaurant org had been the one with historically less attention and staff, because the brand had traction in markets and awareness enough that there was a constant influx of new partners, which meant selection wasn’t a problem. However, upon joining it was clear there was much to be done in terms of improving retention and automating processes.

With great algorithmic changes, comes great UI responsibility. In 2020, we revamped the way we stored and sent data to our restaurants, and needed the app to mirror that.
